My story, so far…

I’m a proud Scot's lassie living on the Northern Beaches of Australia.  Love brought me to Australia having met my now husband, through working together in an Investment Management company based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

We have two boys and decided that before they didn't want to 'hang' with us 'oldies' anymore, we'd set off on an Australian family adventure. In 2020, we spent 12 months travelling around Australia in a caravan.  Little did we, or the rest of the world, know that a global pandemic was about to hit. We were fortunate enough to still be able to travel safely and experience many wonderful parts of Australia.  It was an amazing experience, one that changed us individually and as a family. Despite the weight limitations of travelling in a caravan , I took my painting materials! During this trip, with more time to contemplate the ‘what makes us truly happy?’ question, I found the courage to leave the corporate world and follow my passion for art professionally.

I have since graduated with a Diploma of Visual Arts. I absolutely loved the experience of developing my art making, learning new techniques, practising lots and connecting with like-minded creatives. After such a long corporate career, it still feels strange when I'm asked what I do for a living and I reply 'I'm an artist'. I'm getting more comfortable with this and I’m thankful that I have been able to make this transition. Being a proud Scot and Australian Citizen, my mixed media artworks are inspired by my Scottish heritage and my chosen life in Australia with connection and legacy at the core of my practice.

I adore sharing my passion for art with others and prior to graduating (I just couldn't wait!), I set-up my own art business. I offer a variety of creative experiences in a relaxed, fun environment including:

  • Paint and Sip events

  • Birthday art parties and celebrations

  • School holiday art workshops

  • I have lots of fun running a lunchtime Art Club at our local primary school.

  • I teach 1:1 private art lessons to school-aged children.

I also work part-time in a gallery assistant role. I absolutely love being part of this art community and having exposure to such talented artists, gallery staff, art lovers and visitors.
